AAP launches Bhojpuri campaign song

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled a vibrant Bhojpuri song to strengthen its connection with the Purvanchali community in Delhi, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. The song, deeply rooted in traditional Sohar folk tunes, aims to celebrate the culture and aspirations of people from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and other Purvanchal regions.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh introduced the campaign song, emphasising its importance for the party’s outreach. “This song is dedicated to our brothers from UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal, as this language resonates deeply in their hearts,” Singh said. He added that it would also connect with Hindi-speaking audiences across Delhi and neighboring regions, building on the success of the iconic “Phir Laayenge Kejriwal” song from the last election.
The song highlights key initiatives under Arvind Kejriwal’s government, including electricity bill cuts, senior citizens’ pilgrimages, support for auto drivers, and initiatives for women. It also aims to foster Purvanchali pride and reinforce the community’s faith in Kejriwal’s leadership.
Dilip Pandey, another senior AAP leader, explained that the song is inspired by Sohar folk music, traditionally used to celebrate new beginnings. “For those of us with ties to this region, this song feels incredibly personal, deeply rooted in our shared identity,” Pandey said. He further noted, “This campaign song bridges our regional roots and connects us to the spirit of our traditions.” The party hopes that the song will resonate with Purvanchali voters, inspiring confidence in Arvind Kejriwal’s continued leadership for the future of Delhi.
