7 hurt in Shahdara cylinder blast
New Delhi: Seven persons were injured in fire incident reported from Jawalapuri area of Shahdara on Sunday.
The Delhi Police said that no casualty was reported from the incident. Chief fire officer from Delhi Fire Services (DFS) Atul Garg said that an LPG cylinder blast occurred in Jawalapuri street number-3 in CBD Shahdara area. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Seven persons include (one male, two female and four children).
According to police, they are suspecting that the injured left the gas open or there was any gas leakage in cylinder or gas pipe. "In the morning when they wake up to prepare some meal fire started and later a cylinder blast was reported," police said adding that a neighbour was injured in the case when she tried to rescue.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Ved Prakash Surya said that no casualty was reported.
Recently seven persons were injured in fire incident reported from Narela area in Punjabi Bagh on Wednesday. The victims include two minor children. The fire was in four electric meters and a general store in which seven persons got burn injuries. All of them were rushed to Raja Harish Chander Hospital by DFS with the help of the public.
