6 burglars who targeted house of bureaucrats arrested
NEW DELHI: With the arrest of six persons including two women, Delhi Polce busted a gang of desperate burglars who targeted senior bureaucrats in high profile area of South West District. They have been identified as Handrew Perera, Annu Perera; Ajay Muthu, Gudiya Muthu, Sabbir Ali and Anand Kumar Verma. Hundred percent stolen jewellery was recovered within 48 hours.
On July 2, an information about theft in New Moti Bagh was received at Sarojini Nagar. From the enquiry on Day one, suspicious vehicle was seen. On July 3, after extensive search in Delhi Cantt, suspected Wagon R was traced and one suspect Handrew Perera was apprehended. On search of the vehicle, several tools used in the burglary were found. Handrew Perera divulged the names of other relatives, his brother-in-law Ajay Muthu and Shabbir Ali (Brother-In law of Ajay Muthu) who were partners in committing several burglaries in New Moti Bagh Area.
"Gudiya, Ajay Muthu's wife used to gather information of those flats which were locked. Although family of Ajay Muthu left New Moti Bagh few years back but he usually entered the New Moti Bagh complex and targeted locked houses," said Devender Arya, DCP South West District.
