5 test +ve in GB Nagar, tally stands at 134

GB Nagar: A total of five new positive Covid-19 cases have been reported from Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Tuesday taking the total number to 134. Officials said that eight patients have been completely cured and discharged from the hospital while 55 others are still getting treatment.

As per a senior health officer, out of 190 patients tested on Tuesday 185 patients were found negative for COVID-19. "The five new positive cases include three females and two male. They include a 45-year-old male from sector 34, an 18-year-old male patient was found positive from sector 15, an 18 year old Female from sector 50, a 71 year old female patient was found positive from sector 93A and a 50-year-old female from village Begampur of Greater Noida," said Dr. Sunil Dohare, district surveillance officer, GB Nagar.

The officer further informed that all patients were contacts of previous cases and are already in quarantine. Apart from the positive cases reported, eight other patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. "Total 8 patients were discharged on Tuesday. Four patients were discharged from Sharda Hospital while one patient each was discharged from GIMS & SSPPGTI hospital. Two patients of G.B Nagar admitted in Delhi were also discharged" Dr. Dohare added.

Meanwhile, following the reports of eight Covid-19 positive healthcare workers in the district, on Monday, the administration has now started training of other hospitals in handling non-Covid

patients. Officials said that a team has been formed with officials from GIMS and WHO who will be training other hospitals in the district. The district administration has also partially sealed the three government hospitals.
