5 rounds fired at woman managing director

NEW DELHI: Five rounds were fired at the managing director of a company at Dhaula Kuan in Delhi late on Sunday night. The woman alleged that she was targeted on the way home by two men riding a scooty.

They opened fire at her but the bullets hit the car and the woman was unhurt in the attack, she alleged. She later called the police but the assailants had fled the crime spot.

"Two men were on a scooty and shot five rounds at me, while I was sitting in my car. Bullets hit my car. I was scared and immediately called up the police. By the time the cops arrived, the attackers had fled. Thankfully, they missed," the woman said.

The incident was reported at around 9 pm. The woman works as a managing director of a company. She was alone in the car when the attack took place.

According to the woman, she is unsure if robbery was the motive behind the attack. She doubts that the alleged attack might be the outcome of a rape charge that she has filed against a man some time back.

Police reached the spot and started the investigation. The forensic team was called to check the car that was hit by the gunshots fired by the assailants.

"A call was received at the Subroto Park police station. On reaching the spot at Ring Road Metro pillar no 26, a car was found at the spot with gunshot marks.

The lady caller stated that two unknown persons on a scooty fired at the car and fled after threatening her. No injuries to anyone in the incident have been reported. A case has been registered at Delhi Cantt and further investigation is underway," said Devender Arya, DCP South West.

However, police have found no eyewitness in the incident. Also, sources said that there were no CCTV cameras near the crime spot which can capture the footage. The cops would now be scanning the CCTV of the adjoining areas to get the clues about the assailants.
