5 held with Rs 90 cr contraband drugs
NEW DELHI: Special Cell of Delhi Police has busted an international drug syndicate involved in smuggling of contraband drugs 'Alprazolam', Tramadol tablets, Tramadol powder, Katamine etc, which are known as 'Party Drugs' and 'Meow Meow and have arrested five members identified as Sunil Kumar (33), Lokesh Mehta (25), Satish Sahu (45) originally native of Thane, Maharashtra, Neeraj Arora (43) and a British citizen Rajesh Dutta (45) resident of UK presently residing at Rajender Nagar. Police said that 13.5 lakh tablets of drugs, 10.2 kg Tramadol powder drugs and 500 gms Katamine have been recovered and the international value of this drug is more than Rs 90 crores. The drugs were collected from Mumbai and Delhi by the members and exported to London, UK, Nepal and Malaysia. Kingpins of this gang have been identified as Mazhar, a Pak national and Amarjeet Bains both based in London, UK and Jaspreet Singh Dhillon based in Nepal.
"On interrogation, it has revealed that Sunil Kumar and Lokesh Mehta used to supply Narcotics and Psychotropic tablets and powder to one Mazhar through cargo and courier, as per demand," said Sanjeev Yadav, DCP Special Cell.
