47 yr old dupes eight people of Rs 62l, held from Paharganj
New Delhi: A 47-year-old man who had cheated eight people of Rs 62 lakh in the name of getting employed on coveted posts in Railway and BHEL was arrested from a hotel in Paharganj. According to police, the complainant Neeraj Gautam said that accused identified as Parveen Srivastav allured him and others in providing the job. Complainant trusted him and paid him on various occasions in his office at Laxmi Nagar. Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) Jasmeet Singh said the accused assured the complainant and his seven relatives of getting them employed in Railway and BHEL after taking Rs. 8 lakh cash.
He further added that on various occasions, he took them to Allahabad separately and filled the forms and conducted fake examinations in a hotel at Allahabad and used to get forms filled in the name of preparing their I-card of the concerned department, joining letters and Service books of the concerned department. He got their blood tests conducted in a Pathology Lab, in the name of conducting a medical examination. Later the accused was nabbed from Central Delhi area. Laptop, Pendrive (containing some suspicious data), visiting cards of higher officials of Railway and BHEL, forged papers were recovered from his possession.
