4 held, 1 apprehended for robbing elderly man in Anand Vihar

New Delhi: A 72-year-old man became the victim of the robbers in Anand Vihar area earlier this month. Police have arrested four persons and apprehended one juvenile in the case.

Police said that on March 5, the complainant one Dhan Singh (72) reported that on March 1, he was walking in Birla land Anand Vihar. At about 5:30 pm, two persons came to him.

One of them grabbed him and another took out his phone from his pocket. Later on March 6, another case was reported in which one Sita Ram (25) alleged that on March 3, he along with his friend Pankaj was going to his home from Hargovind Enclave through Birla land at around 7:30 pm.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Dinesh Kumar Gupta said that when they were passing through the bushes, four boys came there. One of them was having a screwdriver in his hand while another one had a country-made pistol and the remaining two were empty-handed.

They robbed Rs 5,000, Aadhar card, ID card and mobile phone from him while Rs 3,500 and a mobile phone from Pankaj. "Later all the accused were nabbed," police said.
