4 gold bars worth Rs 30 lakh seized at IGI Airport

New Delhi: The CISF on Tuesday detected four gold bars weighing one kilogram worth of Rs 30 lakh, which was lying inside a dustbin of a washroom at boarding gate area of terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi.

According to the official, around 6 am a suspected packet was found at dustbin washroom. The packet/pouch was checked from security point of view by the CISF BDDS team. After ascertaining that there was no dangerous/hazardous item inside the packet, it was opened. On opening the packet, four (04) gold bars weighing about 01 kg (worth approximately INR-30 lakh) concealed inside a cigarette packet were recovered.

"The matter was informed to Customs Officials and the recovered gold bars (weighing about 01 kg) were handed over to them for further legal action," official added.
