3 robbers held; pistol, live cartridges, cash seized

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has arrested three notorious robbers identified as Javed alias Happy, aged 24 years, Mohd. Umar (19 years) and Mohd Shahnawaj alias Shabbu, aged 22 years, all residents of Mustafabad, Delhi. One improvised pistol, six live cartridges, Rs 1,20,000 cash (robbed money), robbed bag, and one motorcycle used in crime, were recovered from their possession.

Nine cases of robbery committed in the area of various Police Station of North East District have been solved with the arrest.

At about 7:50 PM on ovember 20 , at the instance of secret informer, the staff stopped a black pulsar MotorCycle without number plate, driven by accused Javed alias Happy. On the instance of informer, accused Javed was nabbed along with Motorcycle. On cursory search, one improvised Pistol and six live cartridges recovered from his possession.

Accused person Javed was interrogated at length. During interrogation Javed revealed that he was involved in 9 criminal cases of robbery in various Police Stations of North East District. On the instance of Mohd Javed accused Mohd. Umar and Mohd Shahnawaj alias Shabbu were arrested and robbed cash of Rs 1, 20,000, along with robbed bag were recovered.

"They disclosed that the recovered cash and bag belongs to the robbery committed on 31.10.2017 by them in the area of Kardam Puri. Accused Mohd. Umar disclosed that he was an employee of a Logistic Company, situated at Bhajanpura and worked as a delivery boy. He wanted to become rich quickly, so he leaked information about the cash delivery of the company to his associates, namely Mohd Shahnawaj, Javed and Satpal . Notorious criminal Satpal hails from UP and is still absconding." said Aditioonal DCP North East Rajender Prasad Meena.
