3 hurt in daylight firing

Greater Noida: Around eight men travelling on four motorcycles opened indiscriminate firing on seven persons in broad daylight while they were returning after buying vegetables from Sikandrabad Mandi.

Cops said that three persons have suffered bullet injuries during the firing.

According to police, the incident occurred around 10 am on Sunday at Sikandrabad-Dankaur road in Greater Noida.

Sharad Chandra Sharma, Circle officer, dankaur, said that the miscreants repeatedly shot bullets at the mini truck in which the targets were returning after buying vegetables.

"The accused allegedly targeted the truck in which six traders were seated who were returning after buying vegetables from Sikandrabad Mandi. One person travelling in the truck and two other commuters who were travelling on a bike and had no link to the targets suffered bullet shots and have been admitted to a hospital. The driver of the mini truck sped the vehicle and stopped only after entering the Dankaur area while the accused fled away," said Sharma.

"We have received a complaint in connection with the incident against four names and a few unnamed persons. They have identified the accused as residents of kanarsi who have earlier threatened the targets not to use the Kanarsi road for travelling to Sikandrabad. We have lodged an FIR against six persons under the section of 307, 506 and 504 of IPC. Investigations are underway and arrests will be made soon," added Sharma.
