28-year-old kills man for refusing to part with drugs
New Delhi: A 28-year-old man was arrested for killing a person in Bawana area of Outer North Delhi. Police said that both accused and deceased were drug addicts and the reason behind murder was sharing of drugs for consumption. Police identified the accused as Mohammad Mumtaz, a resident of JJ Colony in Bawana, who murdered one Hussain in the morning of Diwali.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Gaurav Sharma said that in the morning hours of October 27, a PCR call regarding body at A- block of JJ colony in Bawana was . The deceased was married, drug addict. It was told by family members that he had been missing since last night.
On examining the dead body, it had incised wound at neck, injuries on head and face, one strip of plastic bag was tied around his neck. Two blood stained stones were also lying near the body. The assailant might tried to disfigure the face.
"All known drug addicts in the area were interrogated regarding this matter and it was revealed that one drug addict Mohd Mumtaz was seen last time with deceased. He was examined and after sustained interrogation, he admitted his involvement in the offence,"said DCP Sharma.
The accused told police that the Hussain cheated on him by taking major part of injection and offered him less quantity to inject, on which a quarrel took place between them and he cut his throat with a knife, he also tried to strangulate him and later hit him with stones.
