25-yr-old man shot at for trespassing into Hindon air base

GHAZIABAD: A 25-year-old man was shot at and injured by security personnel at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad on Tuesday midnight, after he tried to trespass into Asia's biggest Indian Air Force base, said police.
The intruder has been identified as Sujeet Kumar, a resident of Anand Vihar in east Delhi. According to police, Kumar first tried to enter the airbase area through one of the gates. But after being warned by the guards, he resorted to scaling the fence.
Around 10.30 pm on Tuesday, he tried to sneak into the air base and was spotted by security personnel. He was warned repeatedly before being shot at in his knees. Later, he was admitted to a medical facility at the air base in Sahibabad.
"During questioning, Kumar revealed that someone had told him that he could get a good job in Saudi Arabia. So he came to the nearest airbase which is the Hindon station" said Akash Tomar, SSP, Ghaziabad.
