21-year-old booked for raping minor cousin in Greater Noida

Greater Noida: Police on Sunday booked a 21-year-old man for allegedly raping his 10-year-old cousin sister inside a car in Rabupura area of Greater Noida.

Cops claimed alleged that the accused Rahul Kumar, a native of Aghota village in Bulandshahr, had come to attend a marriage ceremony of one of his relatives on Friday night.

He lured the minor girl to parked car and allegedly raped her when the family was busy in attending the function.

The accused was also invited to the wedding in a village of Rabupura.

According to police, the victim girl was found lying in an unconscious state on the terrace area.

As she gained consciousness, she narrated the ordeal to her uncle, about being raped inside a parked car, who then approached the police.

Rajveer Singh Chauhan, station house officer, Rabupura police station, said that the victim was sent for her medical test where doctors confirmed rape. "Fortunately there were no serious injury marks on the body as per as medical report," Chauhan added.

"Following the complaint, we registered a case under IPC sections 376 (rape) and ¾ of Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) act. We launched a probe into the matter and arrested the accused on Saturday night. The accused has been produced before court and sent to the jail" added Chauhan.

The victim girl is a native of a village in Bulandshahr, however, she stays in Rabupura based village with her uncle and aunt as her mother died a few years ago.
