2 thieves who hid valuables in jungle, arrested
NEW DELHI: Delhi police has arrested two thieves from South Delhi and recovered 38 earrings along with several other ornaments from their possession. A total of three lakh rupees have also been recovered by Delhi police. The two thieves gave been identified as Ravi and Sohrab, both residents of Mehrauli.
The complainant lodged a complaint mentioning that his briefcase (containing cash Rs 3 lakh, one gold locket, one gold neck chain, 22 pairs gold ear rings, 20 pairs silver payal, 02 rings, 04 silver toe rings and pass book of State Bank of India) was stolen from in front of his house when he brought out the briefcase from his car and kept it at the main gate of his house.
Accordingly, a case under section 379 of IPC was registered at Mehrauli.
The team analyzed the CCTV footage of the area and it was revealed that two boys aged around 25-30 years stole the briefcase of the complainant from the main gate of his house.
The said CCTV footage was shown to local informers and the boys were identified. A raid was conducted and the accused Ravi was apprehended from his house.
During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to this incident of theft along with his accomplice
Sorab.
It was revealed that the stolen articles have been kept at their houses and some of the stolen jewellery was hidden by them in the forest area of DDA Park, Aam Bagh, Mehrauli, New Delhi.
