2 killed in separate road accidents
Ghaziabad: A 42-year-old man was killed after an unidentified car hit scooter from behind on late Sunday night. Cops said that the deceased was on the way to his home in Modinagar area of Ghaziabad from Kavi Nagar when the incident took place.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Surinder Uppal, a native of Modinagar area.
Gajendra Pal Singh, SHO of Modinagar police station said that the incident occurred at around 10 pm and a speeding car coming from Delhi hits Surinder scooty from behind and deceased fell on the road and died on the spot.
"The body has been sent for the autopsy while the reports are awaited," Singh said.
Police did not receive any complaint from the family of deceased while they are performing necessary investigations.
In another similar road mishap, a 60-years-old woman was killed by a truck driver, when she was going to her house after closing her vegetable shop.
Cops said that the victim was identified as Ranjito, a resident of Loni. The lady also runs a vegetable shop in Loni area for the last 30 years.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, Station House Officer of Loni police station said that the incident occurred around 8pm, when the lady was crushed by the wheel of the truck.
The driver is absconding yet but police have seized the truck.
"Police have lodged an FIR against the unknown person under the section of IPC of 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 338 (Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others)," he added.
