12-year-old girl, call centre employee killed in two separate road mishaps

New Delhi: Two persons including a 12-year-old girl died in two separate road accidents which took place in South East Delhi. Police claimed that five persons were injured in the incident. According to police, brother and sister were going to their school when they were hit by the dumper in Jamia Nagar on Friday morning. The impact of the hit was such that 12-year-old girl died. The deceased lived with her family in Shaheen Bagh area of Jamia Nagar. Her brother sustained leg injury and bruises in the forehead and is admitted at Apollo Hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that they have arrested the 28-year-old accused driver identified as Pushpender. He was carrying building material in the truck and he was going towards Noida.
Another road accident took place around 4 am on Friday in Okhla Industrial Area. Police claimed that a truck hit a Maruti Echo Van at Govindpuri Metro Station which was carrying five employees of the call centre in Noida. They were going towards their home after night shift.
The deceased was identified as Jai Kumar Saini (27) whereas the injured have been identified as Nitesh Sood, Dushyant, Swaroop, Dharmendra. The injured persons were discharged after treatment.
"The accused driver fled away in his truck. However, his number plate fell down near the spot and truck was later found in an abandoned condition from Mahipalpur. The truck driver identified as Shriram is absconding after the accident," said the DCP.
