10-yr-old girl hangs self

Noida: A 10-year-old girl, studying in Class V of a convent school allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a window grill inside her house in sector 12 of Noida on Tuesday morning.
Police said that the girl died accidentally after her scarf got tangled in her neck while she was playing with her sister. However, sources claimed that she had a small fight over the television remote with her elder sister and later she was found hanging inside the room. The body has been sent for post-mortem while no complaint has been registered in this case.
According to the police, the victim identified as Manushi Rawat, a student of class V in Assisi Convent School was found hanging with her scarf in her room. The victim lived with her parents and an elder sister at the ground floor of a three-storey building in A-block of sector 12. The police said that her parents were out at work when the incident took place.
The police said that the victim was first spotted by her grandmother, who lived at the top floor of the building. She saw the girl hanging from the window grill and immediately raised an alarm following which neighbors rushed to the spot. The victim was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. "As per victim's family, the incident took place at around 8:30 am when the two girls were playing and Manushi's neck got tangled in the scarf. The family do not want any investigation in this case so no FIR has been registered in the case," said Rajiv Kumar Singh, Circle Officer-2, Noida.
Some neighbors said that the two children had a small fight over the possession of the TV remote. Manushi got angry as she failed to get the the remote. She then allegedly went inside the room and hanged herself with the scarf.
