10-km long road decongested in South Delhi

New Delhi: While complying with the instructions of the Special Task Force, a massive encroachment removal drive was undertaken in the West and Najafgarh Zones under SDMC. Around 10-km long road is now looking encroachment-free and has removed traffic jams on the road from Janakpuri East Metro Station to Uttam Nagar East Metro Station in West Zone and from Dwarka Mode metro station to Najafgarh under Najafgarh Zone.
The West Zone demolished six permanent structures, seized 30 rehris and 44 vehicles including 32 four-wheelers and rest two-wheelers. As many as 15 four-wheelers were seized from the Distt Centre Janakpuri alone. A taxi stand along with a dilapidated wall was demolished with the help of a JCB machine. The vendors, hawkers and encroachments were removed on both sides of the roads.
