Delhi University to start UG admissions from June 1

Delhi University on Friday announced its admission to undergraduate courses beginning from June 1. The varsity has for the first time announced “only online” application registration schedule for the admission in its Undergraduate (UG) courses for session 2016-17 to fill around almost 56, 000 seats. 
The processes of registration will begin from June 1 and the details of the registration process and subsequent procedures will be available in the bulletin of information which will be uploaded online on the same day to www.du.ac.in.

“The eligible candidates are informed that the registration process for the UG courses will be completely online including sports, Extracurricular Activities(ECA), Kashmiri migrants, and defence category,” the statement of DU registrar reads, adding, “The candidate will be required to upload their self-attested documents online,” the statement reads. The University has also prescribed the documents require to be uploaded by the prospective applicants which include, certificates of class X and XII, migration certificate if needed, character certificate and caste certificate.  

The University is likely to come out with only five cut-off lists this year, unlike previous years when it came out with nine or even 10 cut-off lists to fill seats in various colleges.

Respective colleges will also be allowed to impose certain criteria for admissions after the first five cut-off lists. In case more than two students meet the cut-off and criteria imposed, then the class X score of the students will be considered for admission.
