Delhi University to begin admissions from 2 June

The Delhi University on Wednesday formally announced its undergraduate admission process for the 2014-2015 sessions which commences from 2 June. The last date for application is 16 June. The timing for the admission process is 9 am to 1 pm. The announcement also included details of the admission process and cut offs.

There will be 10 cut off lists in the general category and the first cut off will be out on 24 June, where in the admission starts from the same date.

There will be 18 centres across all DU colleges where admission forms will be sold. The centres are divided into north, south, east and west categories respectively.

Candidates can apply both online and offline for admissions. The cost of the form in hand will be Rs 100 and the online form would cost Rs 150.

JM Khurana, DSW of the university said, ‘Like last year, the students can choose both colleges and courses together and there is no cap on it. Plus, all the entrance tests for English and Social Work courses have been done away with. There will be entrance exams for only Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) courses.

‘Another point to be noted is that if a student decides to shift his course from the subjects he/she had in school, then 2 per cent of the marks will be reduced from his/her best of four percentage. Students should also take note that the best of four subjects will include the following — one language, one subject of honours to be pursued at undergraduate level and two academic subjects. All these requirements are to be strictly adhered to,’ said Malay Neerav, Media Coordinator, DU.
