However, the results came on time, as the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) called off the evaluation boycott and had started checking examination papers of graduation final year students.
While the results for the graduation final years for the courses like BMS, BA(H) Business Economics and BBA (FIA) was released little early, results for more than 40 courses were awaited. The DU also declared the Post Graduate entrance test results on July 4. The exams were conducted between June 19 and June 23, 2016. Nearly 8,000 students enroll every year in PG courses in DU.
This year, the University, has conducted the exam at centres outside Delhi (Varanasi, Jammu, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Chennai). The entrance exams were held for more than 60 PG courses available in DU.
The university reserves 50 per cent of the total seats for direct admission for most of its PG courses, except for professional or interdisciplinary programmes. A merit list is prepared based on marks scored by applicants in their bachelor’s programmes.
The remaining 50 per cent seats are filled through entrance exams, and sometimes, followed by interviews. Till last year, interviews were the prerogative of the university’s departments.
