Delhi tourism signs MoU with transport corporation

In a bid to improve room space for tourists and to make the city a tourist friendly destination, Delhi Tourism (DTTDC) and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Thursday. The MOU is aimed at full utilisation of available permissible spaces in the existing bus depots for modernised depots, budget hotels, retail outlets, passenger amenities among other things.

DTC had initially identified six bus depots, at Vasant Vihar, Sarojini Nagar, Sriniwaspuri, Kalkaji, Nehru Place and Raja Garden. These bus depots were found to have sufficient scope for the required facilities. DTTDC will undertake initiatives to develop a detailed concept business plan, carry out a bid process management, selection and appointment of bidders for construction on private-public partnership model.
