Delhi to have young, honest officers: New chief secretary

‘We are committed to providing a people-centric government, and our main focus is on corruption. We will soon form teams of young and honest officers for the job,” Srivastava told reporters here after a meeting with chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. ‘However, all these things will take some time,’ he said.

A 1980 batch Indian Administrative Services officer, Srivastava was earlier posted in the health ministry. He has replaced D.M. Spolia, who is now Delhi’s financial commissioner.

The Aam Aadmi Party, formed in November 2012, won 28 of the 70 seats in the Delhi elections, and formed the government with outside support from the Congress, which won eight seats this time after having been in power in Delhi for 15 years.
