Delhi to completely stop kerosene use soon

Delhi food supplies minister Haroon Yusuf on Thursday claimed that the department of food and civil supplies has been clearly told to provide top most priority to free the capital of kerosene use.

He added that 1.5 lakh families so far have been provided free LPG connections do discourage the use of kerosene. Yusuf expressed confidence that Delhi would soon be able to completely do away with its dependence on the fuel.

The three oil companies, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd have been working together in order to achieve the aim.

The food supplies minister said by discouraging the use of kerosene in households , the city government has been able to cut pollution levels and bring down the instances of eye ailments among women.
