The four accused had allegedly stolen cash, gold and silver jewellery from the victim, Rohit Sethi. Investigators said that the juvenile servant had mixed sedatives in his meal and served it to him on Wednesday night. The juvenile then opened the rear door of the house, allowing the caretaker, Ravi Yadav (21), who belongs to Uttarakhand and his two friends, Arun Yadav (26) and Pintu Yadav (27), both from Bihar, to enter the premises.
The juvenile is from Gaya, Bihar. The four accused then overpowered Sethi and strangled him. The police apprehended the four accused on Thursday. The police said that according to Sethi’s friends, he had left the army about 20 years ago as a major. ‘His friends said that he had won a Vir Chakra,’ said Alok Kumar, additional commissioner of police (Central District).
‘About 7 am today, the police received a mobile phone call that informed them about a theft at house number 5/28 in West Patel Nagar locality. The owner of the house, Sethi, was found dead on his bed. The almirahs inside the house were open’, added Kumar.
