Delhi police redesigns its website, makes it more ‘user-friendly’

Delhi police has redesigned its official website www.delhipolice.nic.in, in keeping with the times. Recently a web based application was launched to report loss of any document/article online or through a smartphone App.

In 2014, Delhi police has also changed its slogan after 23 years, which reads, ‘Shanti, Sewa, Nyay.’ Delhi police has re-designed their website to make it more ‘user-friendly’.

As compared to the earlier design and content of the website, the current site is more informative. Apart from lodging online complaints, information on laws, acts and policing methods have arrived on their web page.

The website is designed in a way to help the citizen get more knowledge about their rights. You can gather in depth information about several topics that have been categorised in a reader friendly way. Issues such as, POCSO, 488A IPC, mediation, marriage, domestic violence, divorce, counselling, child custody, electronic evidence and RTI are available.

Most of the women are not aware about their rights and that is why in many cases they are misguided by people. To help women know more about their rights and the new laws made for them, the official website is now the best platform to gain information. It is more woman-centric now.

Topics like protection, agencies for women and law have been segmented separately. To make it more interesting, articles, poetry has also been uploaded on the page.

Rajan Bhagat, spokesperson of Delhi police said, ‘Further development on the webpage is underway. In next few weeks, the website will be more modified and will come out as a more user-friendly webpage.’
