Delhi Police Law and Order unit to be headed by 2 Spl CPs

In a major reshuffle in the Delhi Police, Law and Order of the national Capital until now headed by one Special Commissioner of Police (CP) will now be headed by two Special CP’s.
In an order issued by LG Najeeb Jung dated April 4, Deepak Mishra an officer of the 1984 batch, Special CP Law and Order (Coordinator) has been transferred and will now be serving as Special CP (Administration). Law and Order will be handled by P Kamaraj, who till now was Special CP (Headquarters). Kamaraj, an IPS officer of the 1987 batch will be Special CP, Law and Order (South). On the other hand, SBK Singh, a 1988 IPS officer who served as Special CP (Security) will be leading as Special CP Law and Order (North).
Arun Kampani who headed as the Additional CP of Legal Cell has been transferred to serve as the Additional CP of Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
Meanwhile, 11 Deputy Commissioners of Police and Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police have also been transferred.
According to the order, the new Deputy Commissioner of Police of South district will be Ishwar Singh. A 2005 batch IPS officer, Singh served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters).
Singh will be looking over the controversial cases of Sunanda Pushkar death case, the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) row where allegedly anti-national slogans were raised. Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police 1 (South) Surender Kumar has been made the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-west). Transfer of Surender Kumar led Nupur Prasad who was serving as Additional DCP 1 of South-west to serve as Additional DCP 1 of South district.
Likewise, R A Sanjeev, a 2005 IPS batch officer has been transferred to serve as DCP (Establishment) while G S Awana who served as DCP (Establishment) has been transferred to serve as DCP (Headquarters).
Bhairon Singh Gurjar who served as DCP (East) has been transferred to serve as the Principal of Police Training College. In place of Gurjar, Rishi Pal who was serving as DCP (Land and Building) will serve as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police of East district.
Three IPS officers from the Union Territories (two from Lakshwadweep and one from Mizoram) have been transferred back to Delhi to serve as Additional DCP 2 of South-east and Central districts. Esha Pandey will serve as Additional DCP 2 of Central district while Rajiv Ranjan Singh will serve as Additional DCP 2 of South-east district. Amrendra Kumar Singh will be serving as DCP (Traffic).
