Police have arrested two robbers and claimed to have solved seven cases of snatching and thefts.
Arif (25), and Rashid (23), both residents of Ghaziabad, were arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police after they got information that the two, involved in several cases of robberies or snatching, would come to Darya Ganj through Vijay Ghat on January 2.
“Police laid a trap to nab them. Sensing the presence of police, both accused tried to run away but the police team managed to nab them. With their arrest, we have solved seven cases of snatching and theft,” a senior police official said.
The official also said that a country-made pistol, four live cartridges, two stolen bikes and two stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
Police is interrogating both accused to ascertain about hideouts of their accomplices, the official said, adding that further investigation is on.
