Delhi opposes exclusive status for Sainik Farms, 2 other colonies

Even as the Delhi government is fast forwarding the process of regularisation of unauthorised colonies, a recent note by Secretary, Urban Development Department of Delhi government to his counterpart in the union ministry indicates that despite the rush, affluent colonies like Sainik Farms, Anant Ram Dairy and Mahendru Enclave may again miss the bus. The note mentions that these colonies cannot be treated separately from 17 other such affluent colonies awaiting regularisation.
The Central government has already circulated a note for regularising the three colonies – Sainik Farms, Anant Ram Dairy and Mahendru Enclave – which are inhabited by city’s who’s who. In its note, the Delhi government has told Centre, ‘The aspect of affluence could not be determined by the Government of NCT (Delhi) while considering the regularisation of the unauthorised colonies.’
