Delhi on par with other world cities: Dikshit

‘Delhi has seen tremendous changes over the past few years and is at par with other world class cities. Delhi Tourism has played a vital role in bringing this change,’ said Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit while inaugurating a railway under bridge on Wednesday.

According to Dikshit, Delhi has seen major infrastructural changes in the last few years. For the last one decade, the better connectivity and improved infrastructure have made travelling easy for commuters. All of this have been developed and sustained while maintaining Delhi’s green cover, a unique feature that distinguishes this truly global metropolis from other cities where the treeline is subdued by the skyscrapers, she added.

Delhi Tourism has successfully completed some of the most important and infrastructural projects. The flyover at Loni Road, Chirag Delhi, IIT, Ring Road, Raja Garden, Outer Ring Road, Peeragarhi, Lajpat Nagar have all been successful ventures. Further Moolchand, Prembari and Madhuban Chowk underpasses were also completed. Garden of Five Senses, Dilli Haat at INA and Pitampura and the upcoming Dilli Haat at Janakpuri are all examples of architectural excellences.

Delhi Tourism has also to its credit the Guru Teg Bahadur Memorial. Signature Bridge connecting east and west Delhi will soon showcase the modern face of Delhi.
