Delhi HC restrains BSES contractual workers from disrupting power supply

Delhi High Court on Friday restrained contractual employees of BSES Rajdhani Pvt Ltd (BRPL) from holding any protest or demonstration within a 100 metre radius of its offices and also prohibited them from obstructing the functioning of the <g data-gr-id="16">discom</g> or disrupting power supply.
Justice Mukta Gupta granted the ex-parte relief to BRPL after it moved court apprehending disruption of power supply owing to demonstrations or sabotage by members of Delhi Vidyut Board Employees Union who <g data-gr-id="19">are</g> working on <g data-gr-id="20">contract</g> with the <g data-gr-id="15">discom</g>.
BRPL told the court that recently power supply in various parts of South, Central and West Delhi were hit, with people experiencing blackouts for several hours, due to alleged sabotage by the striking contractual workers of the <g data-gr-id="18">discom</g>.
It said that these workers could disrupt power supply of the entire national Capital and sought that they <g data-gr-id="12">be</g> restrained from interfering with the functioning of the <g data-gr-id="11">discom</g> in any manner.
