The Delhi government, on Tuesday, digitalised their land records of South-west district and made it available online.
According to government, this is a first-of-its-kind initiative to digitise land-records, through which public can download digitally signed copies of their record from the website.
Government statistics shows land-records of more than 78,000 property owners consisting of more than 1,80,000 khasras. These figures are now available on the website www.dlrc.delhigovt.nic.in.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal directed to replicate this project in all the districts of Delhi within the next six-months to make all of Delhi’s land records digitised. This initiative will allow the citizen to have 24x7 accesses to his record of rights and bring in enhanced transparency levels. Multiple copies can also be printed directly.
“The move will help in many ways as the legal status of ownership of a property can be checked by any prospective buyer from the website, thus safeguarding him against transactions by unscrupulous elements,” said Ankur Garg, District Magistrate, South-west.
The digitalisation process will also reduce the work-load of the department as people will no longer queue up at patwari office for getting their record of rights.
Garg further informed that the online mutation module has also been developed so that the database remains updated at all times. Public can also contact Kapashera and Najafgarh sub-division office errors occur due to computerisation.
Records have been computerised in Devnagari script with the facility of a virtual Hindi keyboard enabling easy search, based on name.
