Delhi girls perform better than their male counterparts

The results got displayed at 12.30 pm which was expected to be out not before 2 pm. The pass percentage of Delhi was 91.76 percentage with 2,61,534 students passing out of 2,85,030 students.

Following the usual trend girls outshone boys even this time with the pass percentage of 92.57 per cent as compared to 91 per cent for boys. However, there were more boys who appeared for the examinations with 1,34,626 boy students compared to 1,26,908 girl students.

Overall, it was not a very good performance as far as Delhi is considered. The pass percentage of Delhi was way lower than that of Thiruvunathapuram which topped the list with 99.87 per cent. Delhi’s pass percentage was also lower than the national average of 96.21 per cent.

There were a total of 2,201 Delhi schools that took part in the CBSE board examinations. Delhi, however, was the national leader in having maximum examination centers at 686 followed by Chennai and Panchkula at 619 and 491 centers respectively.

Delhi’s government schools like Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya and Kendriya Vidyalaya performed much better than the private schools.  While the pass percentages of JNV and KV were 100 percent and 99.52 per cent respectively, the pass percentage of private schools was 95 per cent and that of government schools was 89.13 per cent. However, Delhi’s specially-abled students led the way. There were 1,057 specially-abled students who appeared for the examinations, which was way more than second-placed Thiruvunathapuram with 408 specially-abled students.

The pass percentage of specially-abled students was 90.44 per cent with 956 students passing their examinations.

In the list of  specially-abled students, maximum  were in the category of  being dyslexic students with a total of 454 followed by orthopedic impacted students at 311, hearing impaired students at 141 and visually impaired students at 121. There were also 16 autistic students who appeared and 13 spastic students who appeared for the examination.
