Delhi civic agencies launch pre-monsoon preparations

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation launched the ‘Malaria and Dengue Prevention Month’ to sensitise citizens about these diseases and their prevention and cure before the monsoon sets in by this month-end. ‘The aim of the corporation is to protect citizens from these diseases. Dispensaries and hospitals of east Delhi are well equipped to deal with such situation,’ said East Delhi Mayor Meenkshi.

A citizen helpline number (155303) is also operational where citizens can call for assistance during the monsoon. ‘Teams of 710 mosquito breed checkers have also been constituted. For preventive measures against these diseases, every ward of east Delhi has a group of officials called ‘malaria circle’,’ said Meenakshi.

Similarly, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation launched a sanitation-cum-cleanliness drive.
