A 66-year-old businessman who owned  rubber factories in Dilshad Garden in Delhi and Mumbai and his three employees were found murdered inside his home on Monday. The incident took place at Vivek Vihar in East Delhi.

Bajrang Lal Bokadia, his 40-year-old driver Vinod Dubey, 35-year-old cook Bhola Singh and 18-year-old domestic help Anand were found dead at his A-2 Vivek Vihar Phase-II house. Bokadia was gagged, his hands and legs were tied to a chair and his throat slit,’ said a police official. ‘The bodies of the other three were found lying on the floor and bore injury marks,’ he said.

The bodies were found by Bokadia’s associate Subhash Sethia, who had come to meet the businessman at around
8 am. Sethia found the main gate open, and upon entering he saw the bodies and called the police. Police have informed Bokadia’s son Pawan and daughter Preeti, who are settled in Mumbai. The businessman’s 62-year-old wife, Pushpa, is on her way back from Rajasthan, where she had gone to attend a religious function, which  Bokadia also attended, but he returned on Sunday.

Police said they will question the wife. ‘There is a possibility of both robbery and personal enmity,’ the police official said. A Khukri has been recovered from the murder spot. The bodies have been sent to Sabzi Mandi mortuary, where the post mortem will be conducted on Tuesday.

Bokadia is from the Jain community and was the vice-president of a local religious centre in Vivek Vihar called Oswal Bhavan. Meanwhile, local residents protested outside Boakdia’s house, alleging inadequate police patrolling as the reason behind the killings. Protestors demanded suspension of the house officer of the local police station.

‘We have launched a hunt to nab the culprits. The CCTV footage of the area where the house is located is being examined. The security guards of the locality have been questioned,’ said a senior police official.
