Delhi BJP chief writes to L-G Najeeb Jung, demands ‘preference’ to guest teachers

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhayay on Monday wrote a letter to Lieutenant Governor of Delhi demanding ‘preference’ to the guest teachers in the permanenet appointment of teachers. The guest teachers called off their hunger strike since 9 July after his assuracne to support their demands.
‘Efforts be made to give the guest teachers already working some preference points in the process of engaging them permanently,’ said Satish Upadhayay in the letter to LG.
Upadhayay along with South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Monday met guest teachers on indefinite hunger strike under the banner of All India Guest Teachers Association. The Guest Teachers ended their indefinite fast after the assurance from Satish Upadhyay that Delhi BJP supports their cause. Addressing the teachers at protest site Upadhyay said that having risen from university politics, he could well understand the pain that young teachers are going through. He said he also believed that no society could progress if the teachers have to agitate.
