Delhi BJP chief to form new team by month end

Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhayay is likely to constitute his new team by the end of this month. He also indicated that the performers and new faces would be given responsibilities in the new team.

‘Now, I can fully concentrate myself on my new responsibility as president of Delhi unit,’ said Upadhayay after tendering his resignation from the post of chairman of standing committee in South DMC.

‘I was feeling that I am not able to do justice with the post of chairman due to my busy schedule as party president,’ he said. He however did not announce the name of next chairman.

But, according to sources, deputy chairman Pankaj Kumar would take over as the chairman of standing committee for the remaining period of around six months.

‘I have learnt a lot from my experiences in the corporation which would help me to continue my commitment for good governance,’ said Upadhayay in his farewell speech. Upadhayay became first time councillor in 2012 from Malviya Nagar ward of South MCD and was appointed as chairman of education committee for two terms.
