Delhi Assembly on Monday set up two special committees with nine members each to probe the alleged financial irregularities in Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and the CNG-fitness scam.
The committees, with all their members being Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, have been asked to submit their reports before the commencement of the sixth session of the sixth Legislative Assembly.
The House adopted a resolution moved by AAP MLA Som Dutt to probe alleged financial irregularities and corruption in bodies including DDCA that are administering the games of cricket and hockey in the national Capital.
Addressing the Assembly, AAP MLA Alka Lamba said that the Delhi government should inform the House whether the one-member committee earlier formed by it to probe irregularities including financial bunglings in the capital’s cricket body DDCA, are operational or not. She said several directors were appointed using the name of one person which indicates alleged irregularities. Another AAP MLA Sarita Singh said that instead of conducting raid at chief minister’s principal secretary office, probe agency should have raided the DDCA office.
