Defeat or win, Bedi assures crime-free Krishna Nagar

“My first mission will be to ensure a clean Krishna Nagar... akin to New Delhi and south Delhi. I will also promote community policing to curb crime,” Bedi said at Abhaar Sabha, a meeting she had called to thank BJP workers on the eve of the poll results. Addressing the Sabha at a mall in her constituency Krishna Nagar, Bedi assured party workers that she would work as hard as Harsh Vardhan — who held the constituency for five terms before joining the Union cabinet in May 2014 — and be like a mother to the people. Referring to Harsh Vardhan, who is a doctor by profession, Bedi said: “A mother’s heart is different from a doctor’s heart”, and that she, as a mother herself, would understand the needs of the people better.
