Decomposed body of woman found in Kondli Canal

Decomposed body of a woman in her twenties was found in a suitcase right in front of the Dharmshila Hospital in the Kondli Canal in East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar area on Thursday.

According to the police, eyewitnesses claimed that they saw a travelling bag floating on the canal.

They made a PCR call on which the local police rushed to the canal and fished out the bag. On taking out the bag, they found a body of a woman.

The body was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital for post-mortem.

“A murder case has been registered against unknown persons at the New Ashok Nagar police station,” said a senior Delhi Police official.

According to the police, no documents were found in the bag which could help in establishing her identity. “Preliminary investigation by the police suggests that she was strangled.

“We are trying to establish the identity of the woman through ZIPNET,” added the official.
