Decomposed body of pregnant woman found in S-E Delhi

A decomposed body of a five-month pregnant woman was found at her rented accommodation in Tughlakabad Extension area in south-east Delhi on Friday morning. Her husband is suspected to be the accused who is absconding till late Friday evening.  

The incident was reported to police on Friday morning when Rakesh Kumar, the landlord observed continuous foul smell from the first floor of his building that was rented out by him two months ago. The deceased has been identified as Aarti (25) who recently got married to one Nanhe. It was the couple’s second marriage. It was alleged that the first husband of Aarti died in a road accident while Nanhe divorced his first wife. Receiving the call at police control room, a team reached the spot and broke open the door. 

The body was found lying on the floor with external injuries at various parts. It was in a decomposed state and prima facie circumstances suggested that she was murdered three to four days ago. Her husband is missing since the incident, so he is the prime suspect in the case. Also, the parents of the deceased told police that the couple often indulged in arguments. The body has been sent for the post-mortem. A case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Govindpuri PS.
