A decomposed body of a 22-year-old girl was found in central Delhi’s Buddha Jayanti Park on Saturday.
The girl was reported to be missing since Wednesday. The exact cause of her death is yet to be ascertained.
According to police, on Saturday the girl’s body was found by a police team who were patrolling the area.
The body was sent to Lady Hardings Hospital and was kept in the mortuary. The victims’ identity was established after the police examined the missing reports of respective police stations. She was a resident of Anand Parbat in central Delhi and was missing since Wednesday afternoon.
Her father is a fourth grade employee at a government hospital whereas her mother works at another hospital. ‘When her body was recovered, her clothes were found intact and no external injury marks were noticed on her body. The body was sent for the post-mortem and the autopsy reports are awaited to learn the exact cause of her death,’ a police official added.
‘Prima facie, it suggests that the girl was murdered on the same day when she went missing. Since then the body was kept at an isolated place and later dumped at Buddha Jayanti Park. Her relatives and friends are also being questioned’, the officer added.
