Dead girl’s kin want another post-mortem

A day after a 20-year-old girl’s body was found inside a Ford Endeavour in central Delhi, her family members held a protest on Tuesday. The family is reportedly not satisfied with the post-mortem and are demanding for a second post-mortem.

The cops had alleged that the victim, Nisha, died in an accident as the car had rammed into a steel railing on Ring Road. Three men were also present inside the car, along with the girl, who were injured in the accident. The family, however, claimed that the whole incident was dramatised and that Nisha was kidnapped, raped and  murdered. According to Deevesh Srivastav, additional deputy commissioner of police [Central], ‘We have considered the demand put forth by Nisha’s parents. We have written a letter to the government to appoint a panel of doctors, who would conduct the post-mortem again. The process will probably take a day or two.’

In the preliminarily investigation, it was assumed that Nisha died as an iron plate  pierced her left side of the face. She was taken to Maulana Azad hospital for post mortem. Three men, including  driver Ravi Shekhar,  were later arrested.
