Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is planning to prepare a database of all it’s existing properties through creation of ‘know your property’ and overhaul it’s offices with modern gadgets to give a corporate look.
The authority plans to get fully computerised by September 2015. The Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung, who is also the chairperson of DDA, reviewed the restructuring project of DDA and asked it to finalise the project in next two weeks. As per the plan, DDA has proposed computerisation of all the processes in all its departments. It also plans to link all its departments via information technology for better coordination and information flow. ‘GIS-based (Geographical Information System) system is proposed to be set up for real-time monitoring of engineering works, maintenance of parks in the city,’ said Nimo Dhar, spokesperson of DDA.
The authority has also planned to revamp its headquarters at Vikas Sadan with latest office equipment. ‘The website of DDA will also be made more interactive for payment of bills and charges,’ she added.
The restructuring consultant has also suggested merger of some departments of DDA closely related in work but have overlapping jurisdictions.
