DDA awarded by FICCI for promotion of sports

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) was conferred upon a Special Recognition Award by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) for promotion of sports in Delhi in the Public Sector Category. 

The DDA was awarded wherein the contenders were large government departments like Railways and Public Sector Undertakings having substantial annual budget for sports promotion and also recruiting sportspersons for representing the PSUs at various tournaments and championships.

It may be mentioned that the DDA has been contributing in a big way towards sports promotion in the city of Delhi. 

It has created a large sports infrastructure by way of sports complexes, gyms, golf courses, playfields, etc. 

It also provides opportunities for sports talent promotion and has a number of schemes through which children having sports talent are provided financial assistance and equipment and also training facilities so that their talent is nurtured and they can show-case India at various events.
