DDA announces series of initiatives

The Delhi Development Authority on Wednesday announced a series of initiatives including standard costing of flats, modifications in Master Plan-2021, change of land use, building by-laws, etc. The announcements were made after a meeting led by the Chairman Najeeb Jung on Wednesday.

The DDA, during its scheduled meeting, proposed to retain the weighted average plinth area rates for the half period ending on March 31 at the same levels as for the half-yearly period ending on September 30, 2015. 

The authority also announced to update Draft Transit Orientation Development (TOD) regulations. The proposal for fixation of premium for institutional land allotted to Central government departments/Delhi government, higher educational/technical institutions, DMRC, DTC terminals/depots, dispensaries, primary health centres, etc at no profit no loss basis and for schools run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan at a nominal charge of Re 1 per year. The authority also announced modifications in MPD-2021 which will be followed by motels for holding social functions such as minimum 40 per cent of the plot area must be kept for parking space inside the boundary wall, demarcation of parking area within the motel, having direct access from 60 ft wide main road, no location having ends in dead-end, entry and exit gates for such functions with minimum 15 mts distance between them.

Additionally, the DDA also announced inclusion of 17 villages as part of the Green Belt where low density residential plots are permitted. It has also finalised the Unified Building by-laws. 

After approval, DDA will initiate the process for software development for Online Building Permit System for building permits. Similarly, the other local bodies of Delhi will initiate the same process.

Change of land use of area measuring 90 hectre proposed for IFC in Sector 25, Dwarka from Commercial (C-2) to Public and Semi — 

Public (PS-1) was also finalised during the meeting and a proposal for modification in the MPD-2021 with reference to Chapter 13 Social Infrastructure — Development Control Norms for International Convention Centre in MPD-2021 for parking standard, exhibition, convention and meeting space and activities permitted.
