DCW forwards case of domestic violence against AAP MLA to cops

The DCW (Delhi Commission of Woman) on Saturday transferred the matter of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Manoj Kumar from Kondli, who has been embroiled in a case of domestic violence, to the Delhi Police for further action.

DCW has received the case, where the wife of the MLA Manoj Kumar had accused him of domestic violence and mental cruelty. The Commission had summoned both the parties on three dates, July 18, July 23 as well as July 30. The Commission after counseling the parties and understanding the issue in detail found that it is fit to transfer the case to the Delhi Police for further action.

Therefore, the case has been forwarded to the Delhi Police by the DCW for necessary actions. Kumar’s wife lodged the complaint with DCW where she alleged that she was beaten and abused several times. Last year, the MLA faced arrest in a case of cheating and land-grabbing. The Aam Aadmi Party
had then defended him, saying the case against him was politically motivated.
