Which trashed his statement on Hyderabad blasts as totally disappointing and devoid of any concrete and meaningful plan of action.
Shinde made a statement in the House on yesterday's blasts saying government will make all possible efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and masterminds. The opposition was, however, dissatisfied with the statement and accused the government of treating the issue of terror in a very casual manner.
Leading the attack, BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said, government's policy seems to be condolence for the dead and compensation for those who survived.Rejecting the Home Minister's statement that there was no specific information, the BJP leader asked, 'What specific information do you want? Do you think people will give you house number and street number?' questioned Naidu.
Holding that the Home Minister's statement had nothing new, Naidu said most of what Shinde had said has already appeared in newspapers.'Government is clueless, I appeal to the Home Minister please show some courage, take some strong action, you must exhibit resolve,' said Naidu.
Leader of opposition, Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj while criticising the government said that if there were alerts and the attack was carried out and innocent people were killed, then there is a massive failure.
‘If intelligence was available on terror attacks then the liability of the government is more, what were the state and central governments doing,' questioned Swaraj. She also asked if Owasis's hate speech has also to do some thing with the attack.
Even government's ally Samajwadi Party(SP) termed Shinde's statement as ordinary and totally disappointing. SP leader leader Ramgopal Yadav said that the statement shows no indication about the government's intention and how such incidents can be stopped. 'Whenever any incident happens, it is said that the state was already alerted but centre's information is so vague that not to speak of states, even the centre's own agencies cannot decipher the inputs,' said Yadav.
Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) chief Mayawati stressed on the need for greater coordination between intelligence agencies of the states and the centre.
PROMISED TO RETURN HOME BEFORE BLAST, TRADER MEETS DEATH
Forty five-year-old cloth merchant Mohd Amanulla Khan had called up his family before the twin blasts here promising to return home soon. But he fell victim to the deadly blasts that left a total of 16 dead. Khan had called his family members around 5.30 pm on Thursday to say that he is going to Dilsukhnagar for some work and that he would return home after that. As fate would have it, he never answered calls after the blasts and his body was found among the dead in the mortuary of the Osmania General Hospital, his son Kamran said.
