Dawood still enjoying ISI patronage, reveals Tunda

He told them that he had met the fugitive don in Karachi several times. He also told them that it was he who made Dawood Ibrahim meet Mumbai 26/11 attack mastermind and terrorist Hafiz Saeed and that Dawood Ibrahim is in touch with various terror outfits sponsoring terrorism in India.

Police sources said that he is proving to be an encyclopedia on Lashkar-e-Toiba’s (LeT) pan-India operations and revealing a lot of information on terror outfits. Tunda, an expert bomb maker, told them that LeT commander and Mumbai attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi calls the shot in LeT.

He also spoke about his differences with Lakhvi and officials said that his remorse is that he could not scale LeT’s hierarchy despite being one of the founders of LeT’s pan-India operations because he was termed as spent force once he arrived in Pakistan from Bangladesh in early 2000.

Tunda also told the police, that he was connected with ISI, LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Indian Mujahaddin and Babbar Khalsa, whose leader Wadhawa Singh had contacted him in 2010 to push explosives into India via Bangladesh.

He also disclosed he allegedly ran network of madrasas, known as Maithad Talim Islam Darool Fannon, in Karachi in Pakistan and established before 2002.

‘Tunda provides explosive to the people who joins the madrasas, where he teaches the people how to plant bomb and other technique of arms and ammunition,’ an investigating officer said. Tunda has claimed that top LeT commander and Mumbai attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi calls the shots in the terror outfit.

He further said he had not been included in LeT’s ‘bleed India’ strategy which left him, his three wives and six children on the streets.

He was arrested by the Delhi police from India-Nepal border on Friday after being on the run for 19 years. At the time of his arrest, he was carrying a Pakistani passport in the name of Abdul Quddus when the police picked him up in the Banwasa-Mehendarnagar area bordering Nepal.

Tunda was born in a middle class family in Delhi but had later moved to Pilkhuwa, near Ghaziabad, in his teens. Later he shifted to Mumbai and set up a business dyeing textiles.
